Control Instruments, Inc. takes pride in its efforts to ensure the quality of the products we use and the systems we supply. Equipment is selected on the basis of its suitability to the application, taking into account the environment, severity of duty, and requirements for interfacing with other equipment. Ease of maintenance, availability of parts and service, and past experience with the types of equipment involved are major considerations.

All equipment is inspected on receipt. Whenever possible, systems are tested as a whole in our shop under conditions simulated to those encountered in the field. Any problems with the equipment or the system are corrected in the shop before shipment.

C2i provides complete testing for each of its systems prior to shipment whether specified or not. C2i is a certified and regularly inspected UL 508 and UL 698 panel shop. Though special equipment is engineered into systems which must bear the UL 508 or UL 698 label, each panel delivered by C2i is built to UL 508 and NEMA standards whether specified by the consultant or not. The UL 698 is an intrinsically safe panel rating which UL has qualified C2i to manufacture.

C2i maintains an ongoing and constantly improving quality control regimen. Design and programming engineers are required to be present for all testing and quality control procedures. No equipment is shipped until it is fully tested and signed off for by the project engineer and the project coordinator.

C2i routinely conducts witnessed factory tests in its large manufacturing facility. Factory tests range from small analog systems to complex SCADA systems with multiple workstations and dozens of radio based remote terminal units.

To assist in testing C2i utilizes a mobile simulator that can output and accept multiple discrete and analog signals. A sample test plan is provided to show C2i’s typical testing procedures.
